Babies Are A Bouncin!

Daphne and Co. are doing wonderfully! With happy little furr fluffs with fat little tummies theres not much more you could ask for. The little ones are learning how to play and are fiestier each and every day. I LOVE this stage!! It's so darn cutre to watch them learn how to play and sneak attack each other, My cat "Squishy" happens to think they're  pretty cool himself. Anyone that will play with him is A+ in his book.

Babies are stareting to show interest in MOmma's nummies and I bet it's only a week or so before they begin to chow on their own. That's always fun (and messy) times too!
I apologize for taking oh so long to name the little ones but I have to admit that this special someone has had a nickname all along that is gonna have to stick so I formally introduce you to.... Kramer! =)

Veggiues and boxes and toys! OH MY!!

But I dunno, the kitties may love it even more! O.O

There's always a kitty or two sneaking in with the bun bun for some playtime ;) Little stinkers!

A Loving Mother And Her Wee Ones

I am happy to say that Momma kitty is doing SO much better!!!

Mom is taking wonderful care of her babes and is on the up and up herself! She has been eating a ton the last few days and has gotten her milk back. I have been feeding the babies with a bottle a couple of times a day just to be sure they are getting enough milk and not exhausting momma too much, but lemme tell ya, this momma does not like her babies away from her. She is the most nurturing little lady ever. Whenever she hears a little one crying she immediately comes over to check things out and 'talk' to the baby. It's just darling!

The babies are all plump and happy! They are starting to develop their own little personalities and have began to bat at each other in play. It's so cute watching them learn how to be kitties! I can't wait to see them bouncing around, chasing each other and playing with toys! It's coming soon!

I have named Momma Daphne, although I have nicknames for the little ones, I have yet to officially name them since their personalities are just now showing. Once I get to know them a wee bit better, names will follow. I am sure my daughter Ember will have much opinion in naming them as usual. =)

What's Gotcha Down?

Unfortunately, what was just a case of the sniffles and some daily eye goop has turned into quite a nasty little bug =( My momma has been feeling punkier each day. She is not wanting to eat a thing and has lost her milk. After seeing the doc yesterday the family is back home and I have had to step in and play momma to them myself. I am bottle feeding all five little ones and giving mom her meds, vitamins, and fluids. Keep your fingers crossed that they all are 'up and running' like new in no time.

It is definately not an easy task to take on, caring for five 3 weeks old babies and a sick mom, but I have to admit that I enjoy watching their little ears wiggle in satisfaction when they get their bottle. There's nothing more sweet than a mini kitty relying on you to be it's mommy. Their adorable little faces and purrs definately make up for the lost sleep ;)

Mom seems a tiny bit happier this morning and I am hoping she will be back to her sweet natured little self soon. It's too bad I can't just put her in her comfiest  pjs and get her some good chocolate to make her better. I know it sure helps me ;)

On a brighter note, the babies had a few weeks of their momma's nurturing to give them a kick start in life and Im pretty confident they are strong enough to make it through this with a little help. Hopefully they will only need a couple of weeks of the bottle before they learn to chow on their own.
In the meantime, why not enjoy some outrageously adorable pics, whaddya say?? ;)

Let the babies begin!!

It's that time again! With 'kitten season' getting an early start we are seeing wee ones beginning to come into the shelter. As cute as the little buggers are, lets keep our fingers crossed for a managable kitten season this year.

With that said, are you wondering if I have steaked claim on any of these foster babies? Well OF COURSE I did!! Last night I brought home a beautiful young momma and 5 itty bundles of fluff! It's been a while since I've had one's this bitty! At only a couple of weeks of age these stinkers are a whole lotta cute!

Make sure you're seated... deep breath... cuz here they come!!

Momma has settled in wonderfully and seems nice and comfortable here already. She's taking great care of her little ones keeping them clean warm and FAT! Mom has a bit of the 'weepy eyes' and is getting some medicated goop in her eyes for it, but other than that this little family is doing great so far. I look forward to watching them grow and sharing their journey with you all. Stay tuned ;)

Goodbye Boys!

Duncan and Dudley were taken to Seattle to a rescue that is going to work on finding them the perfect home. Unfortunately they would not be adoptable through our shelter as companion animals. Hopefully they find a great barn to catch mice in! ;) I am glad I had the oopurtunity to meet those boys and find an out for them. I will be keeping tabs on their progress and will be ure to keep you all in the loop as well.

As for now, it's just one adorable baby bunny here. Can you believe it!? I'm sure it wont last long though. The pregnant mommas and mom's with newbies have been trickling into the shelter showing us that kitten season is around the corner. Stay tuned ;)

Is there anything sweeter?

Is there anything in ths world sweeter than a bunny's kisses? Little Nanny just melts my heart when she hops into my lap to give my arm some kisses. I have to admit it melts my heart instantly each and every time! I have seen some pretty dang cute things in my foster life, but bunny kisses have gotta be the sweetest thing EVER! Especially from an itty bitty baby Nanny! Ugh..how do you do it Nanny? You just take my breath away..
AND! How cute is it to watch this little munchkin devour veggies bigger than she? UGH, she LOVES her some veggies! Call me crazy but I think it's ADORABLE how her little mouth moves in a million directions as she eats!
I warn you, this video is overloaded with cute. Use extreme caution while watching!
Are you seated??...

Oh Brother!

Dudley and Duncan are snug as a bug in a rug ;)

We're slowly making a tiny bit of progress with these boys but not as much as I hoped for. I take them out and snuggle with them several times a day, much to their dislike 80% of the time. I am thinking they may have to be seperated so they no longer feed off of each others behaviors. BUT, if you see them when they are around my Squishy kitty, you wouldn't even know they were born wild! They LOVE Squishy! It's quite adorable how they rub against him and let him clean them like momma. =)

Meet Dudley & Duncan =)

After having Jasmine, my unsocial little polydactal baby go off to a rescue, I was ready for some more 'socializer' babies. Then came Dudley!
This adorable cross-eyed hissy pants of a kitten. After coaxing him to eat and allow me to touch him a few times (not that he liked it at all) I was determined to take him home and foster him until he was more social.

Little did I know, he was soon to be reunited with his equally adorable (and hissy) little brother!

The man who had trapped and brought in little Dudley, came back to the shelter a few hours later to turn in his brother! Now I just HAD to take them both home! And so of course, I begged to be able to foster and socialize these borderline feral boys and brought them home with me that night.

They have been with me for a few days now and I am VERY slowly making progress with them. It will take ALOT to get these boys to completely trust us humans after being born outside to a wild mommy, living off of shrews and garbage for several weeks and then bei8ng trapped and taken away from the only security they knew, Momma. But, I will be momma now and do my best to gain their trust. In due time I think they will come around. ;)

Some Bunny To Love

Want some bunny to love?... Need some bunny to love?? Well how lovable is THIS!??

Is that not the cutest little bunny nose you'd ever wanna smooch!?  ;)
Ember (my 6 year old daughter) has named her Nanny. Not sure where that came from but there's no arguing with her about names O.O So Nanny it is =)

February 7, 2012

Hello... Is anybody home???

We're baaaack! Can you believe it? I apologize for the extreme SLACKING on my part. I know it's been a vacation and a half since I last posted >.< Forgive me?? LOTS has happened, but now I'm ready to get back int he swing of things!

So let's catch up on things, shall we?

I am sorry to say that the last five babies that were posted are dancing in kitty heaven with all the tuna and sparkle balls their hearts can desire. Kipper brought home Feline Luekemia and I took a hard hit from the news. This played a great part in the wind being taken out of my blogging sail.

After a very short break, I have continued to foster(duh!). After all, this fostering business isn't just for the fun of playing with adorable babies. These little (and big) buggers need me!

'Kitten season' is almost at a lull right now and I have not had too much going on here. BUT, let me remind you that the term 'too much' almost doesn't exist in my fostering vocabulary. So of course this means I only have a couple of fosters ;) One being a very stinkin' cute Netherland Dwarf rabbit of only 10 weeks! Wait til you see it! >.< Pics are coming soon (as my batteries charge) I promise! The other is a sweet older kitten of about 6 months. She was brought to the shelter and although there were a few interested people wanting to meet her, she wasn't having any part of that. After spending several days in the cattery, she was not getting any better. All she wanted to do was hide in her little box and protest anyone daring to come close. I, of course, took that as a challenge and brought her home. She surely would not find a home with that attitude.

This little girl as been with me for a few days now and I'm slowly making her like me (whether she wats to or not!) =) Needless to say, she's coming around! Today was the first day I was able to get her to play with toys. Speaking of playing, she's running through the kitchen enjoying the quiet nighttime here while she can. I think she's going to be a normal loving kitty in no time. Oh and did I mention she's an adorable polydactal baby!?? ;)

Thanks for the tuna mom!
No name yet. T'will come soon! Promise.
Stay tuned!!
